I have always thought that it’s possible to recognize a great interpreter from the very first notes. Genny Basso has got that great talent, that authenticity, besides his technique, that make him, not only a great pianist, but, above all a great musician.
His style, so clear and limpid, steals the show.
The selection of his programs, his accurate analysis of musical scores, inherited by the unforgotten Aldo Ciccolini, who was my mentor as well, are the proven evidence that Genny is a rare and intense artist.
I wish him the best for his very promising career.
