I welcomed with interest Genny Basso’s idea, the young Neapolitan pianist who was Aldo Ciccolini’s last disciple and assistant, to include in his concerts some Neapolitan melodies, that he arranges on the basis of the feelings that have accompanied him since his childhood.
I could listen to some of these touching performances, in which the artist magically conveys the evocative spirit of feelings, images, ages and passions, which represent the distinctive characteristic of his own songs.
